Immersing himself in the collection of over 30,000 books from Karl Lagerfeld's library, Rafał Milach examines standards of beauty and representation. Reverse is a series of images appropriated from printed publications in which the artist employs artistic interventions, radical cropping, and collage to rework iconic images from the history of art, photography, and fashion. Through these gestures, Milach seeks to deconstruct the male gaze and the rigid ideals of bodily representation shaped by the fashion industry. Project made in collaboration with Magnum Photos
